Hair loss
Hair loss, treated seriously
Shedding is common — after weight loss, after illness, with hormone changes, and with age. Dr. Leena looks for the cause first, including lab work when it is needed, and then prescribes what actually helps. No gimmicks, no miracle promises: real treatment, chosen and monitored by your doctor.
Your consultation is $50—never presented as “free.” If you move forward, every dollar is credited toward your care — medication or labs.
Care that starts with the cause
Shedding is common — after weight loss, after illness, with hormone changes, and with age. Dr. Leena looks for the cause first, including lab work when it is needed, and then prescribes what actually helps: prescription-strength minoxidil — topical solution or foam, or a low-dose oral tablet — spironolactone, or a DHT-blocking medication such as finasteride or dutasteride, matched to your pattern of hair loss. No gimmicks, no miracle promises: real treatment, chosen and monitored by your doctor.

What to expect
How hair-loss care works at Physique MD
Hair-loss treatment by telehealth, anywhere in Illinois or Wisconsin — cause first, then a prescription matched to you.
Start with a short form
Tell us about your hair loss, your health history, and what you have already tried. Your provider reviews every form.
Find the cause first
Shedding has many drivers — thyroid, iron, vitamin D, hormones, illness, and rapid weight loss among them. Your provider reviews your history and arranges lab work when it is needed.
A prescription matched to your pattern
When treatment is appropriate, options include prescription-strength minoxidil, spironolactone, or a DHT-blocking medication — chosen for your pattern of hair loss, not a one-size-fits-all bundle.
Stay with it, and adjust
Hair grows slowly. Your provider checks your progress over the following months and adjusts the plan as your hair responds.
Common questions
Hair-loss questions, answered honestly
Why does hair shed after weight loss?
Rapid weight loss, illness, or stress can push hair into a shedding phase, often a few months after the change itself. It is frequently temporary — but not always, which is why we look for the cause instead of guessing.
Do I need lab work for hair loss?
Often, yes. Low iron, thyroid problems, vitamin D deficiency, and hormone changes can all drive shedding. When labs are needed, we can arrange them at discounted cash-pay rates.
How soon will I see regrowth?
Honestly: slowly. Early shedding can continue during the first weeks of treatment, and visible change usually takes three to six months of steady use. Anyone who promises faster results is selling something.
Are these treatments right for everyone?
No. Some prescriptions are not appropriate for everyone — for example, during pregnancy or with certain medical conditions. Your provider reviews your history first and will tell you plainly if a treatment is not a safe fit for you.
What if treatment does not work for me?
Some causes of hair loss respond better than others. If a prescription plan is not helping, your provider will say so honestly and talk through what else can be done, including referral for in-person care when that is the better path.
Is there a membership or a minimum commitment?
No — no membership, no subscription, and no minimum number of months. You pay for your consultation and, if you’re eligible, for the medication or labs you choose. That’s it.
What is your cancellation policy?
Your $50 consultation fee is paid when you book. Need to change plans? Cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours before your visit and the fee is refunded. Inside 48 hours — or if you don’t show — the $50 fee is kept. If you’re eligible for treatment, the $50 is credited toward your care.

Your next chapter can begin with one easy conversation.
